Resources & Infrastructure Industry Training Package
Diploma qualification (Release 3 – updated 26 March 2014 – current as at 15 Feb 2014)
This qualification reflects the role of mine managers in an open cut coal or metalliferous mine or a quarry, who perform tasks involving a high level of autonomy and requiring the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning and implement safety management plans. There are no entry requirements for this qualification. This qualification and our program is for people who have experience at supervisory levels and experience in this for some time. It is also for those who are managing a quarry and need recognition for their knowledge and experience, including those who may need to move to a State/Territory of Australia where a statutory ticket is required for managing a quarry. This qualification may be required before being granted permission to sit for a quarry managers’ statutory ticket.
Our programs are suited to people who are already engaged in the industry and with experience. Our aim is to suit your needs so we may offer suggestions for other RTOs if we can’t otherwise help you.
Mine Resilience (Australia) Pty Ltd engages trainers and assessors who have both experience working in industry at manager level and above, and experience delivering training and assessment solutions in an industry context. We deliver either group training sessions or individual development. We will work with you to decide the best option for you and your organisation. We will encourage you to attend group sessions because we’ve found that the group dynamics gives you a very powerful experience. It also helps everyone to stick to deadlines. Individual development may be better for
Training, assessment, and personal development may all be required. All participants will be provided with materials relevant to the units of competency chosen to complete their qualification. Resources will be: Learner Resource, Theoretical Assessment, Practical Assessment, and where applicable, a supporting evidence assessment. Where onsite training is required, rooms will be made available containing a white board, internet connection, data projector, computer and internet. If required, specialist mining equipment can be accessed at various mines with whom Mine Resilience (Australia) Pty Limited has ongoing partnership arrangements.
Most trainees will complete within a 12 to 24-month period. One benefit of the group sessions is that we can condense the program and award the qualification in around 6 months depending on your collection of evidence.
Cost will depend on the level of knowledge and experience that the trainee already possesses. Typical costs are $8500 and this depends on how much time we need to spend with you on site.
