RII 60213

Resources & Infrastructure Industry Training Package

Advanced Diploma (Release 2 – updated 8 Dec 2014 – current as at 15 Feb 2015)

This qualification reflects the role of personnel working in a quarry or other extractive industries operations that perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities. They are responsible for the establishment of the site management systems, plans and policies and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.  This qualification is suited to senior management, i.e. managers of more than 1 site, or managers of complex sites, and quarry managers who have several years experience managing one quarry.  We have the Advanced Diploma in Metalliferous Mining (RII60113) in our scope if that is more suited to you.

Program outline

Mine Resilience focusses on people who have been engaged in the industry or a closely related industry for some time, and we may be able to make suggestions if this is not the case.

Mine Resilience (Australia) Pty Ltd engages trainers and assessors who have experience working in the industry at senior manager level, and experience delivering training and assessment solutions in an industry context.  We deliver either group training sessions or individual development.  We will work with you to decide the best option for you and your organisation.  We will encourage you to attend group sessions because we’ve found the group dynamics to be a very powerful experience for others like you.  It also helps everyone to stick to deadlines and for us to program regular group sessions.

Training, assessment, and personal development may all be required.  All participants will be provided with materials relevant to the units of competency chosen to complete their qualification.  Resources may be: Learner Resource/ training session notes, Theoretical Assessment, Practical Assessment, and where applicable, a supporting evidence assessment and/or evidence guides.  Where onsite training is required, rooms will be made available as appropriate containing a white board, internet connection, data projector, computer and internet.  If required, specialist quarrying/mining equipment can be accessed at various sites with whom Mine Resilience (Australia) Pty Limited have ongoing partnership arrangements.

Group sessions may combine candidates for Diploma and Certificate IV where all candidates will benefit from sharing experiences and approaches.

Most trainees will complete within a 12 to 24-month period.  One benefit of the group sessions is that we can condense the program and award the qualification in around 6 months depending on your collection of evidence.  Training and assessment will include site visits and verification of evidence of knowledge and experience.

Cost will depend on the level of knowledge and experience that the trainee already possesses.  Typical costs are $9500 and this depends on how much time we need to spend with you on site.
